Hi In Motion Dance Family!
Firstly, a huge THANK YOU for all of your support and dedication in ensuring that your dancer was able to continue their dance training and for helping them stay motivated and driven during these challenging times! Your trust and commitment allowed us to move forward (albeit in a remote setting) and give continuity to our dance family.
We hope everyone is doing well and miss you at the studio! We are excited for the next coming months and have now been able to make a few future decisions regarding this year's Showcase and keeping dancers and dances in performance shape!
Please note the following:
This will be our last week of classes (Parent and Tots classes see last bullet point). We would typically be moving into theatre next week for our 3 week stint. Instead, we will postpone the 3 weeks and hold them before the Showcase.
We are hoping to have this years Showcase at the Earl Cameron Theatre on September 10 - 12 and 17 - 19 or thereabouts. A schedule of rehearsals leading up will be emailed at a later date.
By postponing the last 2-3 weeks of dance this allows additional in-studio rehearsal time to take place strictly to rehearse and clean pieces before presenting them on stage.
If a Dance Showcase with an audience is still not possibe at that time alternate plans are already in place to accommodate dancers and parents and ensure the best presentation we can offer.
ALL classes this week will be zoom classes to ensure everyone has had an equal amount of live classes over the term. A new schedule is attached to reflect this and also available on your portal.
Please note this does not apply to Parents and Tots classes which will continue to run as scheduled until the end of term on June 6th.
We are committed to doing our best to ensure that all dancers have a chance to showcase what they have learned and been practicing for over the past few months. In order to help keep dancers fresh and pieces clean until the Showcase in September In Motion and it's dedicated Team will:
Upload the showcase videos that they have already recorded to the portal for parents to access and dancers to review and practice at their convenience.
Hold short 15-30min rehearsal refreshers over the course of the weeks until the show. A schedule will be sent out shortly.
Teach Free online open Master Classes for the next few weeks for dancers to continue having some form of dance. A schedule will be sent out shortly.
Offer Private Classes for dancers to book (booking can only be done online via Parent Portal as of Wednesday May 13th)
Offer Summer Programs including Summer Mini Session, Musical Theatre Camp, Princess and Hero's Camp, Summer Dance Intensive (SDI) and Sun, Fun, Dance Camp.
