Alexis began the study of ballet at the age of six as an extra-curricular activity. At the age of eight she continued her ballet training under the direction of Annette Brown of Boston, Massachusetts. Upon moving to Bermuda at the age of ten, Alexis continued to study ballet, jazz, modern dance and tap at the Jackson School. She is a former member of the National Dance Theatre of Bermuda, now known as the National Dance Foundation.
She has taken master classes with David Allen (Canada), Denise Jefferson (Alvin Ailey) and Allegra Kent. While attending the University of Maryland, College Park, Alexis was a member of the Maryland Dancers dance team. Through the dance team, she has had the opportunity to dance during NBA and NFL half-time shows, as well as, compete in two US National Dance Team competitions. Alexis has been a dancer with the In Motion School of Dance and a Professional Company Member of Concepts in Motion Dance Company since 2002, where she has been cast in pieces by international choreographers, such as Slam, B.J. Sullivan, and Ashley Lindsey.
