Kaila K. Belinda is a native to Pennsylvania and grew up training with The Dance company in Clearfield, PA. Belinda Graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BFA degree in Performance and Choreography. Her leadership roles included student director of Slippery Rock University Dance Theater, rehearsal assistant of Afro Colombian Dance Ensemble (ACDE), head captain/ organization coordinator of the dance team Jamrock.
She has choreographed and produced works shown in Slippery Rock's Fall and Winter concerts, independent concerts (Ephemeral stories, Jamrock showcase III, Jamrock showcase IV) as well as the American College Dance Association. Belinda has had the opportunity to travel to New York to perform with dance department. She has traveled to Colombia in the summer of 2015 with ACDE where she performed internationally with the company and has travelled again to Colombia the summer of 2017 where she taught her first international residence.
Belinda has performed in Slippery Rock’s 60x60, Faculty and Guest Artist Concert, the SRUDT Fall Concert, and the SRUDT Winter Concert, The Gala at the American College Dance Association, the New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh, the August Wilson Center in Pittsburgh, and with Lindsay Renea Dance Theater in Youngstown Ohio.
Belinda has had the opportunity to perform in guest artists works including Helen Simoneau, Luis Fernando Trouchon, Marta Renzi, Lindsay Renea Benton, and faculty members of Slippery Rock Teena Custer, Melissa Teodoro, Jennifer Keller, Thomas Cobb, Lindsay Fisher, and Ursula Payne.
Belinda has taught dance at Studio P in Ellwood City, PA, and the Dance Company in Clearfield, PA. Kaila K. Belinda currently is the Jazz Dance Coordinator for In Motion School of Dance in Bermuda. Continuing to venture further into her career through teaching jazz and modern using her influences of afro Colombian technique.
