BALLET CLASSES

BALLET CLASSES

Ballet’s strong technical basis is the foundation of all dance styles, and is vital to a student’s study of any movement style and subsequent development. It is with this in mind that In Motion uses a combination of techniques in our ballet syllabus including the Russian Vaganova Method, English Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Italian Cecchetti Technique.

In addition to the classical ballet and conditioning techniques, these classes develop poise, grace, and correct body placement. Ballet sculpts the entire body while promoting flexibility, proper body alignment and strength.

Students are placed and advance according to ability rather than age and progression between levels is by teacher recommendation only to ensure dancers are in the correct level for their proper and best development. Dancers progress at varying rates and therefore may remain in a particular level for a year or more until certain criteria are met or accomplished.

Placement is by teacher recommendation and relies on a dancers physical ability and emotional maturity. Some dancers may never reach this level of ballet training but the benefits derived from any dance training will stay with them for a lifetime.

Dancers in Prepointe classes will learn how to strength and prepare their legs, feet and bodies for pointe work through repetitive exercises, thereaband work and conditioning exercises.
